Former Scotland striker Derek Riordan could again feature as a trialist when Brechin travel to Ayr in League 1 on Saturday.
The 31-year-old ex-Hibs and Celtic forward came on as a substitute in the 2-1 weekend defeat to Stranraer at Glebe Park.
City boss Ray McKinnon told the club website: "Derek has been training with us for a couple of weeks but is obviously short of match practice. Nothing more than training and playing as a trialist, which he can do for three games, has been discussed."
Meanwhile, Brechin defender Steven Jackson has joined Glenrothes Juniors on loan.
