Ross County stretch their lead, play-off boost for Montrose...

Ross County moved five points clear at the top of the Ladbrokes Championship with a 2-1 win in the Highland derby at the Caledonian Stadium.

Josh Mullin scored early on for the Staggies but Carl Tremarco equalised after Jordan White had missed a penalty for ICT. Andrew Boyle restored Ross County's lead and the home side had Charlie Trafford sent off before the break.

Morton hit back to draw 1-1 with Ayr United at Somerset Park and it was also 1-1 at Palmerston between Queen of the South and Falkirk - both goals came from the penalty spot in stoppage time - Davis Keillor-Dunn scored for the Bairns and was then sent off and Stephen Dobbie equalised.

In Ladbrokes League 1, Montrose are now outside the promotion play-off places only on goal difference after a 3-0 win at local rivals Brechin City. Airdrieonians are also still in contention for a top-four finish following a 3-3 draw at Dumbarton, who edged two points clear of the relegation zone.
