Stirling Albion claimed their first win of the season, beating East Fife 2-0 at Bayview and Cove Rangers won 2-1 away to Highland League Brora Rangers. Raith Rovers overcame Ross County Colts 3-2 in Dingwall while Hearts Colts beat Cowdenbeath 3-1 at Linlithgow. Formartine United defeated Peterhead on penalties after a 0-0 draw at Balmoor.
South Section
Falkirk defeated Celtic Colts on penalties after a 1-1 draw at the Falkirk Stadium while Rangers Colts were 2-0 winners away to Stranraer. Clyde saw off Motherwell Colts 4-0 at Broadwood while St Mirren Colts won 1-0 at Dumbarton. Airdrieonians defeated Hamilton Colts 1-0 away from home while Lowland League Kelty Hearts beat Annan Athletic on penalties after a 1-1 draw at Galabank. Stenhousemuir earned a 2-1 victory over League 2 rivals Edinburgh City at Ochilview.
The draw for the third round takes place at 12.30pm today, with ties due to be played on the weekend of September 7/8.
