Montrose boss Steven Tweed. Who is normally one of the most open managers in the Scottish game, decided to keep quiet last week as he looked to pull a fast one on neighbours Arbroath in their Scottish Cup tie at Links Park.
Tweed spent several days working on a deal to bring Celtic back up goalkeeper Daniele Giordano to the club on loan and when the paperwork was complete Tweed kept mum.
The Links Park manager said, “I knew that this would be a really close game and springing a surprise of having a Celtic player in on loan may just have given us a wee edge on Paul Sheerin’s team. Daniele came in and did really well, however with the game requiring a replay this Saturday the element of surprise has gone.”
