Victory parade for Saints

St Johnstone paraded the Scottish Cup through the streets of Perth on Sunday after winning the trophy for the first time in their history.

Goals from Steven Anderson and Steven MacLean earned them a 2-0 win over Dundee United at Celtic Park in front of 15,000 Saints fans on Saturday.

A huge number turned out again to watch the squad show off the silverware on an open-top bus through the city the following day.

Chairman Steve Brown told the club website: "I’m overwhelmed to see so many people out. You can see in their faces how much this means to them and, whether they are long-time fans or the recently converted, just to see the happy faces is incredible.

“We have to build on this – it shows you that the support is there – and we have to work hard as a club to get as many of these people as possible coming along to McDiarmid Park more often.”
