Steven Lawless scored the only goal after 15 minutes as Motherwell beat Queen's Park 1-0 in Group F of the Premier Sports Cup this evening.
In Group B, Dundee United shrugged off the loss of an early goal to thrash Elgin City 6-1 at Tannadice, helped by a Lawrence Shankland double.
In the same section, Arbroath beat East Fife 2-0 at Gayfield with goals from Dale Hilson and Luke Donnelly despite having keeper Calum Antell sent off when it was goalless.
