Rangers were pegged back for a 2-2 draw with Aberdeen at Pittodrie, with Jon Gallagher and Andrew Considine on target for the Dons after Scott Arfield and Ryan Jack had netted for the visitors.
Fourth-placed Motherwell were 3-0 winners away to St Mirren, helped by a James Scott double. Saints are now bottom of the table after St Johnstone earned a 0-0 draw with Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
Ross County moved to within two points of the top six after hitting back to beat Hibernian 2-1 in Dingwall. Christian Doidge opened the scoring but Ross Stewart bagged a second-half double for the Staggies.
Hearts and Livingston draw 1-1 at Tynecastle, with Steven MacLean equalising late on after Marvin Bartley had given Livi the lead.
