David Moyo scored the only goal early in the second half as Hamilton Accies upset the odds with a 1-0 win over Rangers at Ibrox to move off the foot of the Ladbrokes Premiership table at the expense of Hearts.
Leaders Celtic extended their lead at the top to 13 points but needed a stoppage-time goal from Tom Rogic to earn a 2-2 draw at Livingston. Callum McGregor opened the scoring but Jon Guthrie and Scott Robinson struck for Livi, who were denied a home double over the Hoops right at the end.
Motherwell strengthened their grip on third place after shrugging off the loss of an early goal to dump Ross County 4-1 at Fir Park. Allan Campbell grabbed a double, with Mark O'Hara and Tony Watt also on target.
Aberdeen hit back to earn a 2-2 draw with Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. Niall McGinn and Connor McLennan netted for the Dons after Killie had led through Eamonn Brophy (penalty) and Greg Kiltie. St Mirren are just two points above the relegation zone after a 0-0 draw with St Johnstone in Paisley.
In the Ladbrokes Championship, it was 0-0 between Arbroath and Dunfermline Athletic at Gayfield as both sides edged to within two points of the play-offs.
