There’s another big weekend of football in prospect across the SPFL – we highlight four matches to look out for…
Rangers v Celtic - Ladbrokes Premiership
The first meeting of the Glasgow rivals takes place at Ibrox on Saturday, live on Sky Sports at 12 noon. Both teams go into the game on the back of midweek wins in the Betfred Cup - Celtic at Dundee and Rangers at Partick Thistle. Brendan Rodgers’ men top the table and have a five-point lead over Pedro Caixinha’s side, who occupy third place. Celtic won 5-1 on their last visit to Ibrox in April and took 10 points out of 12 overall last season.
Dundee United v Morton - Ladbrokes Championship
The sides met in the play-offs in May and are separated only by goal difference in the top four; tucked in two points behind leaders Dunfermline, who travel to Brechin. Morton have beaten Dunfermline and Queen of the South in their last two games while United have drawn with Dumbarton and Falkirk in the same period.
Stranraer v Arbroath - Ladbrokes League 1
It’s fourth against third at Stair Park, with both teams behind Ayr United on goal difference and six points adrift of leaders Raith Rovers. Arbroath are unbeaten away from home in the league for a year and thumped Forfar 5-0 at Station Park last weekend. Stranraer were 4-0 winners at Albion Rovers on the same day and have won two out of three at home.
Stirling Albion v Annan Athletic - Ladbrokes League 2
The Binos have a four-point lead at the top after winning away to Montrose last week and are averaging three goals per game but they lost their last home match 3-2 to Clyde. Annan don't have a great record at Forthbank but have made a solid start to the season under new boss Peter Murphy, winning two out of three away matches.
