@splstats looks at some of the numbers behind the weekend’s SPFL games:
4 Inverness Caledonian Thistle beat St Mirren 2-1 in Paisley to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches and keep their hopes of the title alive. John Hughes’ side have now recorded four consecutive away wins, equalling their best ever tally in the top flight. The only previous occasion when they won four in a row away from home came under Terry Butcher in October and November 2012. The Highland side are now unbeaten in their last eight matches against Saints, and have suffered just one defeat in their last 17 meetings.
12 Aberdeen's 3-0 victory over Hamilton Accies at New Douglas Park extended their unbeaten league run to 12 matches, and kept them three points behind Celtic at the top of the table. This represents their best unbeaten run in the league since they went 15 matches without defeat between October 1992 and January 1993. The number 12 was also significant for goalkeeper Scott Brown, who recorded his 12th clean sheet in 15 league appearances for the Dons.
10 Hibernian defeated Rangers 2-0 at Ibrox on Friday night to leapfrog them into second place in the Championship. Alan Stubbs' side are now unbeaten in 10 matches in all competitions, their best run since September to December 2009, when John Hughes' team went 11 games without defeat on their way to finishing fourth in the SPL. The Edinburgh side have won all three Championship meetings with Rangers this season, marking the first time they have ever recorded three league wins in a row against the Ibrox club.
90 Dunfermline moved back into the League 1 play-off places after coming from 2-0 down to beat Stenhousemuir 3-2 at East End Park. Andy Barrowman scored the winning goal in stoppage time, and amazingly this is the fourth time in the last seven meetings between the teams that the Pars have scored a last-minute winner. In August 2013, Andy Geggan sealed an unlikely 5-4 victory at Ochilview after his side had trailed 4-2 with seven minutes to go. Geggan also popped up with a late winner on the Pars’ next visit to Ochilview in January 2014. In between those matches, Allan Smith grabbed a late goal as Dunfermline came from 2-1 down to win 3-2 at East End Park in November 2013.
4 East Fife's 3-0 win away to Montrose on Saturday kept them just five points behind Annan Athletic in the final play-off spot, with two games in hand. The Fifers have now recorded four consecutive wins over the Gable Endies, racking up a 16-1 aggregate scoreline in the process. Gary Naysmith's side have picked up just seven wins in the league this season, and three of them have come against Montrose.
