7 – Celtic moved seven points clear at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership thanks to a 4-1 victory over Hamilton Academical at the Foys Stadium. The Hoops are unbeaten in their last 14 visits to Hamilton, picking up 12 wins and two draws since their last defeat in April 1989. Neil Lennon’s side have now recorded seven consecutive away league wins, which is their best run since 2017.

4 – Livingston defeated Motherwell 1-0 at the Tony Macaroni Arena to move to within four points of fourth-placed Aberdeen in the Ladbrokes Premiership. Gary Holt’s side have now recorded four consecutive league victories, equalling their best top-flight run, which was set from November-December 2001. On that occasion, as this time, the fourth win came at home to Motherwell. Saturday’s success was a sixth in a row at home in all competitions – the last time Livi managed that was in their 2009/10 Division Two winning season, when they went on to win 10 in a row.

1 – Arbroath climbed to fifth in the Ladbrokes Championship thanks to a stunning 1-0 victory over Dundee United at Tannadice. Dick Campbell’s part-timers are now only outside the promotion play-off spot on goal difference and have earned away wins against each of the division’s top three sides over the last couple of months. Saturday’s success was the Red Lichties’ first victory at Tannadice since November 1958, when Dick and Ian Campbell had just turned five. We should note that Arbroath did record penalty shoot-out successes at Tannadice in both the Betfred Cup and Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup in the last couple of years but this was the first time in 62 years that they got the job done in 90 minutes.
29/11/1958: Dundee United 2-3 Arbroath
Dundee United: Brown; Young, Robertson; Wallace, Irvine, Gibson; Hunter, Sturrock, Smith, McDonald, Scott.
Goals: McDonald, Smith
Arbroath: Williamson; McLevy, Young; McLean, Fraser, Sinclair; Anderson, Sherriffs, Easson, McIntosh, Quinn.

7 – Montrose and Peterhead served up a seven-goal thriller at Links Park, with the Gable Endies coming out 4-3 winners to keep up the pressure in the race for a promotion play-off spot. Montrose certainly know how to keep their fans on the edge of their seat – they also lost 4-3 to Raith Rovers recently. Amazingly, this is the second time these sides have played out this scoreline in Montrose this season and it takes the total number of goals scored in the last four matches between them at Links Park to an incredible 27. In contrast, their meeting at Balmoor in November finished 0-0.

4 – Stirling Albion defeated Edinburgh City 1-0 at Ainslie Park to keep themselves in the hunt for the final promotion play-off spot in Ladbrokes League 2. The Binos are now unbeaten in their last six away matches and have won each of their last four. This is Albion’s best run of away wins since July-November 2017, when they managed six on the bounce. It continues an incredible turnaround for Kevin Rutkiewicz’ side, who only won one of their first 10 away games in all competitions this season.
