Weekend in numbers

Resident statto @splstats looks at some of the numbers behind the weekend games...

3 – Ross County defeated Aberdeen 2-1 at Pittodrie to move seven points clear of the Ladbrokes Premiership relegation places. A Billy Mckay double ended the Staggies’ run of 12 away matches without a win, which had stretched back to September. Saturday’s success was Ross County’s first win over the Dons since September 2016 – they had lost each of their last seven matches against Aberdeen. The Staggies tasted victory at Pittodrie for just the third time in their history, and for the first time since May 2016.

100 – St Johnstone stretched their unbeaten run to six matches thanks to their 2-2 draw with Rangers at McDiarmid Park. Saints remain in eighth place in the Ladbrokes Premiership table but are just five points off the top six with a game in hand. Tommy Wright’s side picked up a point at home to Rangers for the first time since a 1-1 draw in December 2016 – they had suffered five straight defeats in Perth since then. The point was secured by Stevie May’s late equaliser – it was the striker’s 100th career goal in all competitions.

Robbie Neilson’s side have now recorded six consecutive victories over the Caley Jags, which is the best run either side have had in this fixture.
