31 – St Mirren climbed into the top six of the Premiership thanks to a 2-1 victory at Celtic Park on Saturday. Kristian Dennis and Ilkay Durmus scored the goals for Jim Goodwin’s side as they moved a point ahead of Dundee United, with three games in hand. It was Saints’ first win in the east end of Glasgow in nearly 31 years - Dennis was the only member of the Buddies’ starting 11 who was born the last time they did it, and even he was only a month old. That last success at Celtic Park came in April 1990, when goals from Gunni Torfason, George Shaw and Paul Lambert earned them a 3-0 victory. Since then, Saints had visited on 27 occasions, losing 25 and drawing just twice.
3 – St Johnstone defeated Kilmarnock 3-2 at The BBSP Stadium, Rugby Park, thanks to a stunning second-half comeback. Saints trailed 2-0 at half-time, but goals from Guy Melamed, Murray Davidson and Ali McCann ensured that Callum Davidson’s side took three points back to Perth. Saints have now recorded four consecutive wins over Kilmarnock, which is their best ever run against the Ayrshire side.
7 – Hibernian moved to within a point of third place in the Premiership table thanks to a 2-0 victory over Dundee United at Tannadice. Darren McGregor and Martin Boyle were on the scoresheet for Jack Ross’ side as they recorded just their second win in eight matches. Hibs are now unbeaten in their last seven matches against the Terrors in all competitions, a run which stretches back to January 2017. The victory continued Hibs’ impressive record on the road – they have taken 26 points from 13 away matches in this season’s Premiership, which is the second-highest tally behind Rangers.
10 – Raith Rovers defeated Dundee 3-1 at Stark’s Park to climb into second place in the Championship. Kyle Benedictus, Reghan Tumilty and Kai Kennedy were all on the scoresheet for John McGlynn’s side as they came from 1-0 down to secure a victory. It was Rovers’ first league win over Dundee in 10 attempts – their last success in the league against the Dark Blues came in April 2011, when Gregory Tade and Allan Walker scored in a 2-1 victory.
1 – Arbroath climbed off the foot of the Championship table thanks to a 1-0 victory over Greenock Morton at Cappielow. Jack Hamilton scored the only goal of the game to give the Red Lichties their first away league win of the season and move them two points ahead of Alloa Athletic. Saturday’s success was their first victory at Cappielow since December 1977, when Jimmy Bone and Albert Kidd scored in a 2-1 victory.
