57 – Queen of the South defeated Heart of Midlothian 3-2 at Tynecastle to keep themselves well in the race for a promotion play-off spot in the Championship. Allan Johnston’s side bounced back from two straight defeats to move level on points with Dunfermline Athletic and Inverness Caledonian Thistle in 4th and 5th, and just three behind Raith Rovers and Dundee, who are 2nd and 3rd. Harold Macmillan was Prime Minister the last time the Doonhamers defeated Hearts – that was more than 57 years ago, in October 1963, when David Thomson scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory at Tynecastle.
12 – Dundee climbed to third place in the Championship thanks to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Dunfermline Athletic at Dens Park on Saturday evening. The Pars led 2-0 through two early goals but James McPake’s side turned it around thanks to goals from Jason Cummings, Danny Mullen and Lee Ashcroft. The Dark Blues are now unbeaten in their last 12 home league matches against Dunfermline, with their last defeat coming back in 2004. This was the first time Dundee had come from two goals behind to win since they defeated Heart of Midlothian 3-2 in December 2016.
19 – Falkirk extended their lead at the top of League 1 to six points thanks to a 2-0 victory over Forfar Athletic at Station Park. Charlie Telfer and Blair Alston scored the goals to hand the Bairns their third consecutive victory since returning to action. Falkirk are unbeaten in their last 19 matches against The Loons in all competitions, a run which stretches all the way back to 1988.
7 – Partick Thistle defeated Airdrieonians 4-2 at the Penny Cars Stadium to climb to third place in League 1. Scott Tiffoney marked his league debut for the Jags by scoring twice, with Brian Graham and Connor Murray grabbing the other goals to give Ian McCall’s side their first league win in four matches. Thistle have an excellent record against the Diamonds – Saturday’s success was their seventh straight win in this fixture – the last time they failed to beat Airdrie was December 2012. This was the first time Thistle had scored four or more goals in a league game since November 2015, when they beat Kilmarnock 5-2 at Rugby Park.
5 – Edinburgh City climbed to second in League 2 thanks to a 3-1 victory over Stenhousemuir at Ainslie Park. Rafa De Vita netted a double before Danny Handling rounded off the victory in stoppage time. Gary Naysmith’s reign at the Citizens has started in the best possible fashion, with three straight victories since the club returned to action. Including the last two matches of James McDonaugh’s reign, City have recorded five consecutive wins in all competitions, having previously only won five matches all season.
