@splstats looks at some of the numbers behind the weekend SPFL games:
7 Aberdeen recorded a seventh consecutive league win as they beat Motherwell 2-0 at Fir Park on Sunday to extend their lead at the top of the Premiership table to four points. The last time the Dons won seven league games in a row was way back in October and November 1992, when Willie Miller was manager. Goalkeeper Scott Brown has not conceded a single goal during those seven wins – this is their best run of consecutive league clean sheets since 1983, when Alex Ferguson's side managed eight in a row.
17 Dundee United’s 2-2 draw with Partick Thistle at Firhill on Sunday extended the Terrors' unbeaten run against the Jags to 17 matches in all competitions. United have picked up eight wins in that period, with the other nine matches finishing as draws. Thistle's last win over United came way back in March 1995, when goals from Tom Smith and Wayne Foster handed them a 2-0 win at Firhill. Four of the players who appeared in Sunday's match hadn't even been born the last time the Glasgow side tasted success - Liam Lindsay and Declan McDaid of Thistle and Charlie Telfer and Blair Spittal of United.
20 Hearts' 1-1 draw against Hibernian on Saturday maintained their unbeaten start to the Scottish Championship season. Including the final game of last season, the Jam Tarts have now gone 20 league matches without a defeat. This is just the fifth time in their history that the Tynecastle side have managed to go 20+ matches unbeaten in the league. In 1914/15, despite many of their players undergoing military training as part of McCrae's Battalion, Hearts managed a 20-match unbeaten run and almost won the league title. Their best run came in the 1950s, when they managed a 31-match sequence, which included the final 22 matches of their title-winning 1957/58 season and the first nine of the following campaign. In 1977/78, the Jambos finished their season with a 23-match unbeaten streak to secure promotion back to the top flight. Their most recent 20+ game unbeaten run came with a cruel twist – in 1985/86, Alex MacDonald's side put together a 27-match streak to move top of the table going into the final day of the season, but Dundee and Albert Kidd broke their hearts with a 2-0 victory which handed Celtic the title.
2 Stirling Albion defeated Stenhousemuir 2-1 on Saturday to record their second victory of the season and move to within five points of Ayr United at the foot of the League 1 table. The Binos ended a 15 match winless streak in the league – their only other victory also came at Ochilview back in August, when they recorded a thrilling 5-4 victory over the Warriors. Curiously, despite having a better season overall, they only picked up one point from two visits to Ochilview to face East Stirlingshire last season.
6 Albion Rovers' 2-0 victory over Annan Athletic at Cliftonhill closed the gap on Arbroath at the top of the League 2 table to just four points. Darren Young's side are now unbeaten in their last six home league matches, something they had managed just once in the last four years. Rovers have also recorded three consecutive clean sheets in the league in Coatbridge for the first time since 2011. Saturday's game was the 10th time the sides had faced each other in the league at Cliftonhill, and Rovers strengthened their grip on the head-to-head record by picking up their fifth win, to Annan's two.
