Weekend preview

There's another big weekend of football coming up in the SPFL...

Leaders Celtic are 13 points clear in the Ladbrokes Premiership going into Saturday’s home game with St Mirren while closest challengers Rangers go to Dingwall to play Ross County on Sunday, live on Sky Sports at 12 noon. Third-placed Motherwell are at Tynecastle to face a Hearts side who are bottom of the table despite winning the Edinburgh derby in midweek. Aberdeen, in fourth spot, host Hibernian at Pittodrie while Livingston, who are also chasing a European place, are away to St Johnstone. Hamilton Accies, who won at Ibrox on Wednesday, welcome Kilmarnock to the Foys Stadium.

It’s top against bottom in the Ladbrokes Championship as Dundee United face Partick Thistle at Tannadice. Inverness CT, 16 points back in second spot, travel to Alloa Athletic and it’s third against fourth at Somerset Park as Ayr United take on Dundee. Morton and Arbroath are just outside the play-offs as they prepare to meet at Cappielow, as are a Dunfermline side who entertain second-bottom club Queen of the South at East End Park.

Just five points separate the top four in Ladbrokes League 1 – leaders Raith Rovers face Forfar Athletic at Stark’s Park. Falkirk are a point back in second spot and are at home to Peterhead while there’s a big game at the Penny Cars Stadium as Airdrieonians, in third, face fourth-placed East Fife. Montrose still have play-off ambitions going into Saturday’s home game with Stranraer while Clyde and Dumbarton clash at Broadwood.

Cove Rangers are 10 points clear in Ladbrokes League 2 going into their home match with bottom club Brechin City while second-placed Edinburgh City host Albion Rovers. Cowdenbeath, in third, travel to Annan Athletic and fourth-placed Queen’s Park are away to Stenhousemuir. Play-off rivals Elgin City and Stirling Albion meet at Borough Briggs.
