Weekend preview

There's a full card of games across all four divisions of the SPFL, with the action getting under way this evening...

There are four Friday night matches in the Scottish Premiership, including the meeting of Aberdeen and Hibernian at Pittodrie. The sides are separated by just a point in the table, with Hibs third and the Dons fourth. Ross County are at home to a Livingston team just below them in the standings and the Staggies are permitted to welcome 300 fans to the Global Energy Stadium. St Mirren play their first Premiership match since October 2 when they host Dundee United in Paisley while St Johnstone are looking to move level on points with Kilmarnock when they meet at McDiarmid Park. 

On Sunday, Motherwell v Celtic is live on Sky Sports at 12 noon - the Steelmen go into the match on a run of four wins in their last five league outings. Leaders Rangers host bottom club Hamilton Accies in the later match on Sunday - the Ibrox side hold a nine-point advantage at the top but Celtic have two games in hand.

In the Scottish Championship, Alloa Athletic are looking to get their first points on the board when they host Dundee this evening, live on BBC Scotland at 7.45pm. Leaders Dunfermline Athletic put their 100% record on the line at Ayr United tomorrow while second-placed Raith Rovers host Morton. Heart of Midlothian reached the Scottish Cup final last weekend and now welcome Inverness CT to Tynecastle while Arbroath and Queen of the South clash at Gayfield - both sides are aiming to end a run of three straight defeats.

Cove Rangers have a two-point lead at the top of Scottish League 1 as they prepare to welcome Forfar Athletic to Balmoral Stadium. There's a big game at Firhill as Partick Thistle take on second-placed Falkirk while Dumbarton, in third, are away to bottom club East Fife. Montrose take on Peterhead at Links Park and there's a local derby as Airdrieonians welcome Clyde to the Penny Cars Stadium.

It's second against first in Scottish League 2 as Elgin City welcome leaders Queen's Park while unbeaten Stenhousemuir go up against third-placed Edinburgh City at Ochilview. Stirling Albion travel to Glebe Park to play Brechin City, who again have Michael Paton in interim charge, while Annan Athletic are at home to bottom club Albion Rovers. Stranraer are searching for their first win when they take on Cowdenbeath at Stair Park.
