Elgin City manager Barry Wilson has started making plans for next season after Saturday’s 4-0 defeat at Clyde all but ended any lingering play-off hopes.
To make matters worse for the Borough Briggs boss, Mark Nicolson limped off after three minutes with a hamstring injury.
Wilson said: “We are now without Mark and he is the latest in a long line of experienced players to be out with injuries. We also have Brian Cameron, Paul McMullan, David Niven and Paul Millar all absent and getting to the play-offs is now a long way off.
“I will be giving some of the youngsters at the club games from here on in. They have the chance to show me they should be in my starting 11 next season. Hopefully, I will unearth a gem over the next few weeks.”
