Young set for comeback

Queen of the South’s experienced midfielder Derek Young is pushing for a place in the side at home to leaders Dundee after three months out

Queen of the South’s experienced midfielder Derek Young is pushing for a place in the side at home to leaders Dundee after three months out.

The former Aberdeen, Dunfermline, St Johnstone, Partick Thistle and Morton player is back training fully after toe surgery and has also been involved in reserve games, with manager Jim McIntyre close to naming him against Falkirk on Saturday.

McIntyre said: “Derek was in the squad for the Falkirk game but we decided that he was not just ready. He should be fine to be included for Dundee this weekend and having his experience about will be an asset.”
