Elgin City will play their 500th match in senior league football when they face Queen’s Park at Borough Briggs on Saturday and will look to celebrate it with their 145th win.

The Moray Men have suffered 252 defeats and drawn 103 games, scoring 662 goals and conceding 919.

Elgin entered the SFL in 2000 and have had 10 managers during that time. They have finished bottom twice, ninth four times and seventh once, with fifth and sixth place captured twice.

An all-time high of fourth spot was reached under Ross Jack in 2011/12 but Elgin lost to Albion Rovers in the play-offs.

Current boss Barry Wilson, who has only been manager for 10 of the 499 games, said: “It is nice to be in charge when we reach this milestone. Hopefully we can mark it with a win.”
