Airdrie United goalkeeper Grant Adam missed his side’s trip to Arbroath last night after the Diamonds decided not to appeal against the red card he received against East Fife on Saturday.
The on-loan Rangers shot-stopper was dismissed in the first half at New Bayview for handling outside of the box, however Adam claimed he was innocent and that the ball had struck him on the chest.
Manager Jimmy Boyle poured over the footage taken by the club’s cameraman, however he decided against lodging an appeal despite backing his man.
Boyle said, “We remain convinced that the ball hit Grant’s chest, however the video is inconclusive so we have left it.”
“There is no point in incurring a cost that we may not get back.”
