Queen’s Park midfielder David Anderson stunned his colleagues in their 3-1 Friendly success over Airdrie United at the weekend by scoring his first ever goal for the Spiders.
The 2010 summer signing from Kilbirnie Ladeside had never found the net in nearly 80 appearances for the Hampden side however he tucked home a rebound from close range at the National Training Centre at Largs much to the delight of coach Gardner Speirs and his team-mates.
Speirs said, “I am not sure who got the biggest surprise David, myself or the small group of fans that came to watch the game. He has been our Player of the Year in the two seasons he has been here without scoring a goal, so that tells you how good he is anyway.”
“If he can score a few more between now and May he is going to be in with a chance of making it three.”
