Annan Athletic have signed 16-year-old goalkeeper Gary Black from the Jimmy Johnstone Academy and the young shot-stopper has started working already with the Galabank first team.
Black and Gold boss Jim Chapman set up the link with the Boys Club in Glasgow over the summer and Black’s move is the first sign of the parties working together to give young players a route into senior football.
Chapman said: “Gary has been thrown straight in at the deep end by featuring in our first team squad. He has proven to be an able stand in for the injured Alex Mitchell and I am looking forward to seeing how he develops with us.”
