Arbroath have completed the signing of former East Fife and Morton striker Jack Smith, who scored their second goal in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Queen’s Park.
The 19-year-old, the son of former Dunfermline and Airdrie forward Andy, came through the youth set-up at St Mirren and was recommended to Gayfield boss Allan Moore by Danny Lennon.
Moore said: “I was after a fourth striker with a bit of quality and Danny told me to have a look at Jack. He looked good in training and I actually signed him before he scored on Saturday although the paperwork was not through in time and he played as a trialist.
“His job is to put pressure on the guys that are starting just now and he has started doing that already.”
