Bell's Monthly Awards for December, 2005

Awards Announced

BELL'S Player of the Month: Brian Prunty, Airdrie United F.C.

BELL'S Young Player of the Month: Craig O'Reilly, Dundee F.C.

BELL'S Manger of the Month, First Division: Sandy Stewart, Airdrie United F.C.

BELL'S Manager of the Month, Second Division: Allan Moore, Stirling Albion F.C.

BELL'S Manager of the Month, Third Division: Jamie McKenzie, Elgin City F.C.

Airdrie United FC's successful month in December has been recognised by SFL sponsors BELL'S, who have awarded two of their monthly awards to manager Sandy Stewart and player Bryan Prunty.

Sandy is handed the December award of Manager of the Month (First Division) after a phenomenal run last month. Five games, in which 16 goals were scored, including a sensational 3-2 win at Dundee, have led him to be voted a BELL'S winner, following up his last win in November 2004.

Bryan, who will be celebrating his 23rd birthday on Thursday, from Coatbridge, the BELL'S Player of the Month, came to the game as a youth player at Celtic before enjoying brief spells with Inverness and Aberdeen.

Moving back to his own local area to join Airdrie in August 2005, he has been instrumental in Airdrie's great run in December, becoming the fourth First Division player to score a league hat trick, hoisting his total to six goals in December.

Iain MacDonald, BELL'S Sponsorship Manager, comments: "Bryan's hat trick in the match against Dundee, together with Sandy's hard work in leading the team through an extremely successful month, have led to the judges to conclude that they are both worthy winners of the December BELL'S titles."

Allan Moore has been awarded the BELL'S Manager of the Month (Second Division) award for December after a hugely successful month for his club, Stirling Albion FC.

Allan led the club through a ten-game run without defeat until the end of December; one of the best sequences in the country at the moment. It is the manager's first award from BELL'S this season.

Iain MacDonald, BELL'S Sponsorship Manager, comments: "Stirling Albion's unbeaten run is testament to the great job that Allan is doing at the club. Judges were unanimous in agreeing he should take the trophy for the month of December."

Jamie McKenzie, acting manager of Elgin City FC, has had his contribution to his club's successful month in December recognised by league sponsors BELL'S, who have awarded him the Manager of the Month (Third Division) title for December.

Jamie, at only 25, is the youngest serving manager in the UK. Since taking over in December, he has been unbeaten, winning two games and drawing one in the month.

Iain MacDonald, BELL'S Sponsorship Manager, comments: "Jamie has done a great job in his role as caretaker manager, with his team's results speaking for themselves. As such, the judges deemed him a worthy winner of this, his first BELL'S award."

Craig O'Reilly of Dundee FC has picked up Dundee's first award from Scottish Football League sponsors BELL'S as he wins the Young Player accolade for December.

Craig, 18, from Edinburgh, joined Dundee in July 2005 from Raith Rovers and was introduced into the top side in December. He was an immediate success, scoring three goals in the month of December.

Iain MacDonald, BELL'S Sponsorship Manager, comments: "Craig has made a great start in his career with Dundee and the judges agreed he was the natural choice to win this December award."
