Betfred Cup matchday three preview

A look ahead to matchday three in the Betfred Cup group stage, with 14 games on Saturday and two more on Sunday.

Group A leaders Ross County don't play this weekend - Dundee United host Alloa Athletic and it's Arbroath against Elgin City at Gayfield.

Montrose have made a great start in Group B and will be out to upset the odds against St Johnstone at Links Park while East Fife host Forfar Athletic on Sunday.

Group C pacesetters Inverness CT are the spare team but Hearts take on Raith Rovers in a game being played at Bayview due to pitch works at Stark's Park. It's live on BT Sport with a 3.00pm kick-off. Cowdenbeath and Cove Rangers meet in a repeat of May’s play-off at Central Park.

The big game in Group D is at Dens Park on Sunday when Dundee play Dunfermline Athletic, live on BT Sport at 3.00pm. Peterhead go up against League 2 rivals Stirling Albion at Balmoor on Saturday.

Partick Thistle top Group E but don't play on matchday three. Albion Rovers face Ayr United at Cliftonhill and Morton entertain Stenhousemuir at Cappielow.

The top two in Group F clash at Linlithgow due to pitch works at the Tony Macaroni Arena. Livingston are second in the section, with League 2 Annan Athletic setting the early pace. Berwick Rangers and Airdrieonians meet in the other fixture at Shielfield.

Group G leaders Queen of the South have scored eight goals in two games as they prepare to play Edinburgh City at Ainslie Park and group favourites Motherwell make the trip to Stair Park to take on Stranraer.

Dumbarton are top of Group H with five points out of six and play Kilmarnock at the C & G Systems Stadium in their third outing. Queen’s Park and Lowland League champions Spartans go head to head at Hampden.
