Arbroath youngster Connor Birse, who has been out of action for 14 months, is making good progress from his second major knee operation.
Birse had battled back from his first injury and was set for a first-team return last October after playing in several bounce games but suffered a second knee problem that required surgery.
The 19-year-old is back training, with boss Paul Sheerin saying: “Connor is making good progress again and he is joining in with running sessions. He is stretching himself but he knows that he has to build himself up carefully.
“We are confident that he will be good to go come pre-season.”
