Two of Third Division Stranraer’s management committee, Ian Dougan and Shaun Niven, showed their love of the game on Tuesday when they went on a three game journey that saw 16 goals scored in the space of 9 hours. The duo went to Ayrshire’s Bellsdale Park in the afternoon to take in Beith’s 7 goal thriller against an Airdrie side that triumphed 4-3 before heading to Glasgow to watch their own side defeat Junior side Clydebank 2-0 in a friendly at Toryglen.
Their car was pointed in a southerly direction and arrived just in time for the 7.30pm kick off between Third Division rivals Annan and Brechin City that the Glebe Park outfit won 5-2.
Dougan said, “It has been a bit of a whirlwind time and my only regret is that Stranraer never scored as often as Brechin did.”
