Boyle's role now permanent at Airdrie United

Jimmy Boyle now in permanent charge of the Diamonds

Jimmy BoyleAirdrie United have confirmed that Jimmy Boyle’s role as interim manager has been made into a permanent position. Boyle, who was assistant to previous manager Kenny Black until he was removed from office in July, has been in temporary control and he has the impressed the Diamonds’ Board.

Boyle has had to rebuild an entire squad and his youngsters have shown great battling qualities in their games so far with chairman Jim Ballantyne saying, “We asked Jimmy to take over the reins after Kenny left in order for the Club to take stock. We have been extremely pleased with the progress made in such a short space of time and it became abundantly clear that he was the man for the job.”

It has been a busy time for Boyle on and off the park with Ballantyne adding, “The interim appointment took place around the time of the birth of Jimmy and Lisa’s daughter Lily so there were other issues to be considered. Things have settled down and Jimmy has now formally accepted the appointment.”

“Jimmy has been head of youth as well as Assistant Manager and he has had no hesitation in giving our young players their chance. This is the way forward for this Club and I am delighted that he is driving it from the front”.
