League Cup pedigree: Celtic have won this competition 19 times, most recently two years ago when they beat Rangers 1-0 in the final. Saints claimed the silverware for the first time in their history when they beat Livingston 1-0 in February.
Past meetings: Celtic won the last League Cup meeting 1-0 in September 2018 when Leigh Griffiths scored late on in the quarter-final in Perth. Saints' last League Cup win over Celtic was 2-0 in a group stage game at Muirton Park in August 1981.
This season: Celtic won 2-0 when the sides met in the cinch Premiership last month. The next fixture is at McDiarmid Park on Boxing Day.
Form: Celtic go into the game on a run of seven wins and a draw in their last eight games under Ange Postecoglou. Callum Davidson's Saints drew 0-0 with St Mirren last time out but recently beat Dundee United and drew with Hearts.
In the event of a draw: Extra time then penalties, if required, will determine the outcome.
