It’s Easter weekend and it could be a memorable one for two teams on the brink of glory in cinch League 1 and cinch League 2 respectively.
Falkirk could seal their return to the cinch Championship with victory away to Montrose while Stenhousemuir have the chance to clinch the cinch League 2 crown when they visit Dumbarton.
Here’s a look at the possible permutations.
cinch League 1
Falkirk could become cinch League 1 winners before kicking a ball on Saturday evening. The Bairns travel to Links Park to face play-off chasing Montrose at 5.30pm on Saturday, LIVE on BBC ALBA.
John McGlynn’s men hold a 17-point lead over 2nd place Hamilton Academical, who face a Queen of the South side battling to avoid slipping into the relegation play-off place.
If Accies drop any points at home, then Falkirk will be league champions.
Should John Rankin’s men secure three points then Falkirk would need to do the same in Angus to win the title this weekend.
Montrose have proven to be stubborn opponents for the Bairns this season, with the last Links Park meeting ending 0-0 in November.
With Stewart Petrie’s men firmly in the promotion play-off hunt, don’t discount the Gable Endies as being the side to end Falkirk’s 32-match unbeaten cinch League 1 run, which stretches back to April 2023.
cinch League 2
After 140 years without a league title to their name, Stenhousemuir are within touching distance of an historic feat.
Gary Naysmith’s steely, consistent Warriors have amassed a 15-point advantage in the cinch League 2 race and fans have been dreaming of when that winning moment might finally arrive.
Stenny face 3rd place Dumbarton at the Rock this weekend with the Sons level on points with 2nd place Peterhead, who welcome 10th place Clyde to Balmoor.
If Stenhousemuir pick up all three points and Peterhead fail to do the same against Clyde then the party can officially begin in FK5.
Should Stenny and Dumbarton draw then even a Clyde win over Peterhead would extend the race for another week. This scenario would keep the gap between Stenhousemuir and Dumbarton at 15 points with 15 remaining to play for and while the Warriors have a superior goal difference, they wouldn’t be confirmed as champions yet.
Any defeat for Stenhousemuir would also see the race move into GW32.
