GK - Craig Gordon (Heart of Midlothian)
Scotland's number one, Hearts' number one, and our number one. The cinch Premiership player of the season, and with good reason. No goalkeeper in the Scottish top-flight made more saves over the season than Craig Gordon. At 39, Gordon continues to surpass even his own high standards on a weekly basis, making gravity and logic defying saves as standard. Racked up 14 clean sheets as Hearts secured a return to Europe at the first attempt upon their return to the top-flight.
DEF - James Tavernier (Rangers)
The Rangers captain secures yet another appearance in the team of the season after another fine season. Racking up 9 goals and 13 assists in the league from right-back, his continued hold over the right-hand side of the pitch in Scottish football continues.
DEF - Cameron Carter-Vickers (Celtic)
A rock at the centre of Celtic's title winning defence, the Spurs loanee has earned a placed in our Premiership team of the season. After arriving on the final day of the transfer window, Carter-Vickers missed only one game all season, adding a coolness and solidity to the Celtic backline. Strong defensively both in the air and on the deck, his ability with the ball was key. Not only that, but the big centre-half netted 4 goals in the league, including a crucial winner at Ibrox in April.
DEF - Stephen Kingsley (Heart of Midlothian)
A versatile piece of the Hearts' backline, Stephen Kingsley has had a fine season. Not only grabbing a league derby goal, but his dead-ball strikes against Ross County, Motherwell and St. Mirren were standout goals in the season.
DEF - Calvin Bassey (Rangers)
A revelation in the Rangers backline, the 22-year-old began to show his real quality as the season progressed. Whether deployed at left-back or at centre-back, Bassey performed to a remarkable level not only in the league, but in Rangers’ deep runs in cup competitions at home and abroad.
MID - Tom Rogic (Celtic)
Tom Rogic gave Celtic fans a season to remember in his swansong season for the club. A goal of the season contender against Dundee United to add to his collection, an equaliser in a crucial match-up against Rangers, and half a dozen assists as he glided across the parks of Scottish football for the last time.
MID - Callum McGregor (Celtic)
Celtic's captain secures another appearance in the SPFL team of the season. A vital cog in Ange Postecoglou's machine, Callum McGregor has been at his best all season long. His relentless movement and drive from midfield, allied to his metronomic passing and vital goals against Aberdeen and St. Mirren highlights his importance to Celtic.
MID - Joe Aribo (Rangers)
A fine season for the Rangers midfielder, with an incredible highlight reel! Stunning goals against Ross County, Livingston, Hearts and St. Mirren among others, Aribo was another player for the Ibrox men who shone in the league.
FWD - Regan Charles-Cook (Ross County)
What a season for the County forward! After a first season in Scotland with no league goals, Regan Charles-Cook was a force to be reckoned with on the left-hand side of County's attack. Concluding the season as joint top scorer alongside Celtic's Giorgos Giakoumakis. All but one of Charles-Cook's 13 Premiership goals led to County grabbing points on their way to a fine top-six finish.
FWD - Kyogo Furuhashi (Celtic)
The man from Japan added immediate class and guile to Celtic's attacking play. Kyogo announced his arrival in the cinch Premiership from Vissel Kobe in some style on the opening day, netting a hat-trick against Dundee in his first home game and never looked back. Alongside his sterling performances in the league, Furuhashi's double against Hibernian in the Premier Sports Cup secured the first of Celtic's trophy double in 2021/22.
FWD - Jota (Celtic)
The Portuguese playmaker terrorised full-backs up and down the country on loan from Benfica. Ten goals and ten assists along with a league winners medal tucked safely in his pocket ensures a spot in our team of the season. A key component in Ange Postecoglou's attacking style, Celtic fans will be desperate for a return from Lisbon for next season.
