Danny Cadamarteri helped Dundee United beat city rivals Dundee 3-1 on Tuesday night in a friendly to mark the installation of a new £250,000 floodlighting system at Tannadice.
The clubs haven't met in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League since April 2005 - when Jim McIntyre scored the winner in a 2-1 victory for United at Dens Park - and a crowd of 7,774 turned out.
Andis Shala gave Craig Levein's side the lead but Pat Clarke equalised for Jocky Scott's men before second-half strikes from Cadamarteri and Jon Daly, back from injury, sealed the home win.
