Dubious goal verdicts

Motherwell's second goal in their 2-0 win over Hearts at Tynecastle in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League on Saturday has been officially marked down as a John Sutton goal

Motherwell's second goal in their 2-0 win over Hearts at Tynecastle in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League on Saturday has been officially marked down as a John Sutton goal.

Sutton challenged for a cross ball with home defender Marius Zaliukas and the SPL Dubious Goals Panel have deemed it as the forward's goal.

Meanwhile, St Johnstone's equaliser in the 1-1 draw against Aberdeen has been recorded as a Stuart Nelson own goal. Saints striker Andy Jackson saw his shot hit the post and the ball rebounded back into play before going into the net via the Aberdeen goalkeeper.

The SPL Dubious Goals Panel is made up of three Match Delegates selected from the list on a rotational basis. They view footage independently and report their decision back to the SPL.
