The 33-year-old joins the League 1 club after leaving St Johnstone and has previously played for Berwick Rangers, Dundee United, Peterborough, Coventry City, Hearts and Hibernian.
Manager Darren Young told the East Fife website: "Danny signing is a massive coup for the club. We have been talking for a few weeks now, amidst interest from full-time & other part-time clubs, but having spoken to some of our current players he was keen to come to Bayview.”
