Shire making stadium progress

East Stirlingshire’s recently-announced plans to move to a new stadium at Little Kerse in Grangemouth are gathering pace.

Shire left their Firs Park home of 87 years in 2008 to lodge with Stenhousemuir at Ochilview but a partnership with LK Galaxy Sports, that would see a new home spring up at the former site of the BP social club, has now been agreed.

Chairman Tony Ford said: “We announced the plans last month and they have received a very positive response. We have continued to move forward and three companies are now in the process of talking to us about putting a pitch down at the same time as a pavilion is built as part of the phase one development.”
