Edwards leaves Elgin for Brora

Defender moves on from Borough Briggs to Highland League

Steven Edwards in action for Elgin CityElgin City have allowed 30 year defender Steven Edwards to leave the club to join Highland League side Brora Rangers due to family reasons.

The Borough Briggs player’s young daughter has been attending hospital in Glasgow frequently in recent months and Edwards has only been able to make occasional performances for the promotion chasing side.

It is hoped that he will be able to play more regularly for his home town side, that are a two hour drive away from Elgin, with manager Ross Jack saying, “We have been and remain happy to support Steven in any way we can. However travelling to and from training was an added burden to him at a time when he is doing a lot of driving to Glasgow as well.”

“Hopefully he can go on and feature a lot for Brora.”
