Falkirk have signed Pele following his release from West Brom during the summer.
The 31-year-old - full name Pedro Miguel Cardoso Monteiro - has been training with the Bairns and has impressed sufficiently to earn a contract at The Falkirk Stadium, subject to a medical.
Pele can play in defence or midfield and has previously turned out for Farense and Belenenses in Portugal prior to moving to England to join Southampton then West Brom.
Bairns boss Eddie May said: "I knew of him as a player, he was recommended and I have now seen him with my own eyes in the last few days.
"He has a good pedigree and with the quality he's got, if he can get himself a little bit fitter I'm sure he will be a valuable and experienced addition to our squad. He has said he feels very settled at the football club and he likes what he has seen."
