Falkirk youngster Liam Dick played for the Bairns first team in Saturday’s 4-0 win against Cowdenbeath and had a car waiting to whisk him away to join the Scotland under-19 side that face hosts Serbia today.
The club’s Technical Director Alex Smith said: “Scotland were meeting on Saturday evening and we thought long and hard about whether Liam should play for us before meeting up with them.”
“In the end we decided to play him and then allow him to get to Hampden quickly to meet up with Ricky Sbragia’s squad. He has not had much first team experience and we were a few players short so it meant he went out with Scotland really sharp.”
