It’s the final weekend card of October and, after Storm Babet hit the GW9 schedule, we’ve got a full card to look forward to this time around.
Who will round off the month with some welcome cinch Premiership points?
Hibernian v Celtic
GW9 was one of contrasting fortunes for these two sides. While Celtic ran out 4-1 winners in the capital, Hibernian were in Glasgow as they lost 4-0 to Philippe Clement’s Rangers.
Can Matt O’Riley continue his incredible run of form, which has seen him score six goals in nine cinch Premiership appearances?
He remains the game’s top scorer by quite a distance on 218.5 points.
Livingston v Dundee
Sean Kelly’s expertise from the penalty spot could make him a popular pick with three conversions in his last three cinch Premiership appearances.
A midweek clean sheet from Trevor Carson moved the experienced shot stopper on to 79 points for the campaign and makes him Dundee’s leading performer.
Motherwell v Ross County
Stuart Kettlewell has options in attack with Conor Wilkinson on the comeback trail while Fantasy players have taken advantage of Oli Shaw’s £3m price tag as he prepares to go up against his former employers.
The Staggies are on their travels again after a 0-0 draw at Dens Park on Tuesday night. Defender James Brown has been a strong scorer with 40.3 points since his summer arrival in Dingwall.
St. Mirren v St. Johnstone
The Battle of the Saints in Paisley gives St. Mirren the chance to consolidate their grip on third spot in the table.
This could be a match where Mark O’Hara (52 points) or Greg Kiltie (67.2 points) shine.
The visitors will have to cope without Drey Wright, with the midfielder set to undergo an operation to determine the extent of his knee injury.
Kilmarnock v Aberdeen – Live on Sky Sports
Kyle Vassell produced a captain’s display with a double in last week’s 3-1 win over Livingston to sit second in GW9’s top earners. Aberdeen’s number nine will be aiming to make his mark in Ayrshire with Bojan Miovski looking to add to his tally of 4 cinch Premiership goals.
Only Kyogo and Matt O’Riley have more goal involvements in the top flight than Danny Armstrong (3 goals and 3 assists).
Rangers v Heart of Midlothian
Abdallah Sima was GW9’s leading performer as his brace helped Philippe Clement mark his debut as Rangers boss with a 4-0 triumph against Hibernian. The on-loan Brighton man has the chance to gain more joy against the team from the other side of the capital when Heart of Midlothian come calling at Ibrox.
After losing 4-1 to Celtic last time out, Steven Naismith will have plenty to ponder but his side did claim a 2-2 draw on their last trip to Govan. Will Liam Boyce (26.4 points) earn a place in the starting XI?
With a midweek card on the way, it is the perfect time to ponder those crucial selections before Saturday’s 3pm deadline.
