It’s still early days in the cinch Premiership season but are you already looking at making wholesale changes to your squad?
Let’s take a look at how Gameweek 6 is shaping up.
Livingston v Celtic
Bruce Anderson made a telling contribution for Livingston last weekend, scoring to earn the Lions a point in Dingwall to gain an encouraging 18 points. He could be the home side’s best attacking hope in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off (12.30pm), live on Sky Sports.
While plenty of managers have been rewarded with their selection of Greg Taylor at the start of the season, Liam Scales has been a quiet revelation since working his way into the starting XI. Taylor is the only Celtic defender to have collected more points that Scales’ 45.
The champions boast the top three performing midfielders in Matt O’Riley, Callum McGregor and David Turnbull as well as the leading attacking trio in Kyogo Furuhashi, Daizen Maeda and the now injured Liel Abada.
Dundee v Kilmarnock
After working together for over a decade, Tony Docherty and Derek McInnes will be in different dugouts at Dens Park but Fantasy bosses will be looking for injury updates from both men before finalising their squad.
Killie goalkeeper Will Dennis was forced off in the first half of his team’s 2-2 draw with Hibernian so will the on-loan Bournemouth man be able to play at Dens Park or will Kieran O’Hara get his first Premiership start?
Killie skipper Kyle Vassell scored his first league goal of the campaign against Hibernian last time out – is he a player who could add value to your squad?
Luke McCowan remains Dundee’s top scorer with 37 points, however players may choose to put their faith in attackers Amadou Bakayoko (25.5 points) or Scott Tiffoney (26.4 points).
Hibernian v St. Johnstone
Nick Montgomery will have learned plenty about his side in his first match in charge and Fantasy managers will gain further insight into the new Hibs manager’s approach after this home game against St. Johnstone.
Dylan Vente grabbed his first Premiership goal last weekend and Hibernian’s number nine will be seeking to overcome a knock picked up at Rugby Park to keep his place in the starting XI. Christian Doidge was forced off with a nasty injury in Ayrshire so could Adam Le Fondre be a strong investment for this one?
St Johnstone fans could get their first look at Sven Sprangler with manager Steven MacLean indicating that the Austrian could be one of three players to return to the fold alongside Nicky Clark and Drey Wright.
St. Mirren v Heart of Midlothian
St. Mirren sit second in the Premiership table after a wonderful start to the campaign as they get set to host Hearts.
The Buddies’ defensive players have played a big part in their rise and it was no surprise to see match winner Scott Tanser named as GW5’s top scoring player on 38 points, closely followed by goalkeeper Zach Hemming (37 points).
Liam Boyce scored one and created another in Hearts’ 2-0 win over Aberdeen and he will be relishing the opportunity to make up for lost time after missing most of last term through injury.
Zander Clark has kept three clean sheets in five league matches, so if you are in the market for a new goalkeeper then the Hearts man is one to look out for.
Aberdeen v Ross County
It has not been the start to the season Aberdeen fans had hoped for and, as the travelling Dons supporters return from their trip to Frankfurt, Barry Robson’s men turn their attentions to the search for a first league win of the campaign.
Bojan Miovski remains the most popular Aberdeen player with Fantasy players although Dante Polvara’s low price means that the American, who signed a new deal with the club this month, is also in favour at the moment.
The Staggies head to Pittodrie in sixth place with defender James Brown (44 points) proving to be an excellent addition to the County backline.
Simon Murray has scored nine goals in 10 club appearances this season and the 31-year-old should be in your mind when making GW6 selections.
Rangers v Motherwell
How will Thursday’s European exertions impact Michael Beale’s team selection for Sunday’s match against Motherwell?
Todd Cantwell’s injury has given an opportunity for others in the Ibrox engine room to shine including Tom Lawrence, who set up Rabbi Matondo for the second goal against St. Johnstone. Further injuries to Nico Raskin and Danilo will lead to players going into the transfer market for replacements. Sam Lammers has picked up 46 points to date and will be one to consider.
Motherwell’s midfield pairing of Callum Slattery and Blair Spittal have helped push the Steelmen into third place ahead of this trip to Glasgow.
The match will be a stern test for the Steelmen’s high-scoring defenders, with Dan Casey and Stephen O’Donnell the pick of the bunch in the campaign’s opening weeks.
