William Hill Premiership

Fantasy SPFL: MD1 Stars

Bowie and Findlay top rankings on opening weekend

The world’s great artists descend on Edinburgh each August so it should be no surprise that the capital’s top teams lead the way in William Hill Premiership Fantasy Football on opening weekend.

Hibernian were the first side to claim three points with Scotland striker Kieron Bowie helping himself to a brace against Dundee to bag 20 points for Fantasy SPFL bosses.

Not to be outdone by their city rivals, Hearts defender Stuart Findlay nodded home to help Derek McInnes’ men to victory over Aberdeen as the Jambos top the table.

James Tavernier has long been a favourite with Fantasy managers thanks to his ability to earn big points from defence. He popped up with the opener at Fir Park on Saturday but Emmanuel Longelo grabbed the headlines with a well taken finish as both men made their way into the top 5 scorers list.

Big things are expected of David Watson this term and the Kilmarnock midfielder made a promising start with a goal as the Rugby Park men played out a thriller with newly promoted Livingston.

Like all good managers, will you analyse what went well and how your side can improve heading into MD2?

Will new arrivals Oliver Antman, Grant Hanley or Jahmai Simpson-Pusey earn a place in your squad?
