Farrell leaves Dumbarton

Boss exits after cup defeat

Dumbarton have confirmed the departure of manager Stevie Farrell following their 4-0 Scottish Cup defeat to Auchinleck Talbot.

Farrell was one of the SPFL's longest-serving bosses having taken charge of the Sons in the summer of 2021.

He took charge of 210 games and was Dumbarton's second longest-serving post-war manager.

Farrell led the club to promotion to William Hill League 1 through the play-offs in May 2024. Dumbarton entered administration during the 2024/25 campaign with the team relegated back to William Hill League 2 for the 2025/26 season.

The club sit in seventh spot in William Hill League 2 but have only recorded one win in their last six league games.
