St Mirren fans will have many great memories as they prepare to leave their Love Street home of more than a century - with the European nights a special occasion in Paisley.
The first tie was in the 1980/81 UEFA Cup against Swedish side Elfsborg when a 0-0 draw was enough to secure a 2-1 aggregate victory and set up a meeting with St Etienne. Again, it was 0-0 at Love Street but Saints lost the return 2-0 to a team that included Michel Platini.
A certain Ruud Gullit scored the only goal when Feyenoord, who also had Johan Cruyff in their ranks, won 1-0 in Paisley in the 1983/84 UEFA Cup while two years later Frank McGarvey scored twice in the memorable 3-0 home win over Slavia Prague (pictured) before a heartbreaking late loss to Hammarby in the next round.
St Mirren's last European adventure came in the 1987/88 Cup Winners' Cup. Kenny McDowall netted the only goal in a 1-0 aggregate defeat of Tromso from Norway but Belgian side Mechelen proved too strong and went all the way to the final, where they defeated Ajax 1-0.
