Former player returns in Chaplain role at Clyde

Stuart Coleman appointed as Club Chaplain to the Bully Wee

Clyde have welcomed back former player Stuart Coleman to Broadwood in a new role as club chaplain and the Bully Wee reckon that they have created a small piece of history into the bargain by being the first club to bring in an ex-player to take on the role.

Stuart ColemanTwenty four clubs in Scotland have a club chaplain appointed to help players through guidance and counselling with Coleman delighted to join their ranks saying, “I played for Clyde in the mid-90s and have lived within the Cumbernauld area for most of my life, so I am really excited and privileged at the prospect of being involved in this capacity.”

“I am here to be help, support and encourage everyone connected with the club. Along with the support of my church, we will provide the services associated with a chaplain, such as counselling and advice on a range of issues in strict confidence.”

Clyde’s community& volunteering director, Gordon Thomson added, “We reckon that it is unique that Stuart has played for the club before becoming our chaplain. We are really pleased that he has accepted this position as he is a well-known face around the club and is ideally suited for the role.”
