Rodriguez, who  scored 3 times in 11 appearances in his time in Scotland, was brought north by then Stirling manager Allan Moore after he contacted Burnley boss Owen Coyle looking for players.

He made his debut as a second half substitute in a 3–0 defeat from Celtic in a fourth round Scottish Cup tie at Celtic Park before scoring against Morton, Livingston and St. Johnstone.

The striker established a career at Turf Moor after a loan spell at Barnsley and he scored 21 times last season as well as making the PFA Championship Team of the Year.
