Frederic Frans was on hand at Firhill earlier to promote the Partick Thistle Community Trust after-school football programme.
Partick Thistle Community Trust provide football coaching services to local primary schools and are currently working in various schools across Glasgow. The Trust are also in the process of expanding the After-school football programme by adding two additional weekly sessions, and bringing back its popular Sunday morning indoor session.
The after-school football programme welcomes all young players aged between five and 12 years old, regardless of their gender or ability. The Trust offers accessible and affordable football training through programmes designed to develop individual skill, technique and teamwork. Most importantly the after-school football sessions are highly enjoyable and fun.
Each session finishes with fun small sided games which encourage individuality as well as teamwork. Qualified coaches from the Jags can also identify players and nominate them to attend performance/development sessions to grow their skills further.
These sessions provide the opportunity to get involved in football, either for fun or by creating a path to professional football through the Partick Thistle player pathway.
Already the community run football sessions are showing great success in progression with 45% of community participants attending the Thistle Weir Youth Academy Grassroots Programme, four of which have signed to the Academy for the 2014/2015 season and 14 are now attending the Youth Academy Development sessions.
Join a session today and to start your very own pathway.
