Dixie Deans scored a hat-trick against Hibernian for the second week in a row as Celtic won a goal-laden final in front of 53,848 fans at Hampden in October 1974.
Winger Jimmy Johnstone sent the Hoops on their way with an early goal, with Paul Wilson and Steve Murray also on target for Jock Stein’s side.
Joe Harper bagged a hat-trick for Hibs but still ended up on the losing side in a season when the capital club finished runners-up to Rangers in Division One, with Celtic third.
