Airdrieonians FC have come up with a unique and original way to help fill the half-time interval.
If not already excited by the action on the park, fans of both teams at Airdrie v Arbroath this Saturday can brace themselves for the added bonus of a lucrative game of Prize Bingo!
Airdrieonians FC has teamed up with Club 3000, the national bingo chain with a local venue at Coatdyke, between Airdrie and Coatbridge. Club 3000 is offering a superb new PlayStation 4 as the prize for the first called Full House, with “eyes down” at 3.50pm, during the half-time interval of the final home game of the season.
In a hugely innovative venture, bingo cards and markers will be distributed at all turnstiles, so that every spectator can play the game.
Manager of Club 3000 locally, Alistair MacBride, explained: “We want to show bingo as a bit of fun, as entertainment for everyone in and around the community, not just confined to our own 2,000-seater hall. Giving football fans the chance to play, and the incentive of a great prize for the winner, helps us do just that.
“We’ll be handing out an envelope to all spectators entering the stadium, and hope that nearly everyone will want to take part. We reckon on taking between five and 10 minutes to call the numbers and declare a winner. That will still leave some time for the pie and bovril and the half-time scores.
Airdrie’s Commercial Manager, John Drysdale, added: “We are delighted that Club 3000 share our sense of providing value to customers. If we can put a few more ‘bums on seats’ at our match as a result of this initiative, and if Club 3000 can add some new members, then the partnership will have proved worthwhile and worthy of repeating. But even if that doesn’t happen, everyone involved will have enjoyed something a bit different at the football.”
