A change in working circumstances has cost former Airdrie United and Ayr United front man David Gillies a return to the Senior game. The striker, who was a member of Auchinleck Talbot’s Emirates Junior Cup winning squad, had seen his displays prompt newly promoted Second Division Albion Rovers to put together a deal to bring the 27-year-old back to the SFL however, a move off the field has cost Gillies his chance.
Coatbridge boss Paul Martin said, “David had agreed to come here and I am sure he would have been a hit in the Second Division however, he was told last weekend that he would be required to work in the North of England for lengthy periods and that has put paid to the move.”
